Venture Investors Health Fund Promotes Jenni Le to Principal, Expanding Commitment to University Spinouts and Healthcare Innovation
Madison, WI — December 19th, 2024 — Venture Investors Health Fund (VI), a Midwest-based venture capital firm focused on healthcare innovation, announced the promotion of Jenni Le to Principal, signaling an even deeper commitment to fostering the next generation of transformative healthcare technologies. This promotion comes at an exciting time for the firm, as it continues to expand its role as a key player in the realm of university spinouts and other research-driven innovations — where breakthrough healthcare advancements are poised to reshape the industry.
Le, who has been with the firm since 2022, has made significant contributions to VI’s portfolio and will now take on an expanded leadership role.
“Jenni’s promotion is not just a recognition of her outstanding work within our firm — it’s a reflection of the bigger vision we have for reshaping healthcare through university-linked innovations, ” said Jim Adox, Executive Managing Director at VI. “Her work with early-stage companies, particularly in the healthcare sector, has been invaluable. We’re thrilled to see her take on this new position, and we know she will continue to drive meaningful results for both the firm and our portfolio companies.”
Le’s promotion comes at a time when university spinouts are gaining significant attention as a critical source of groundbreaking technologies that are transforming the healthcare industry. As healthcare systems demand more efficiency and innovation, university-linked and research-driven startups are uniquely positioned to deliver solutions born from years of research and scientific discovery.
Le’s tenure at VI began in 2022 as an Associate, where she focused on sourcing and supporting investments in healthcare innovations. One of her most significant contributions has been to Visana Health, the first deal the firm invested in during her time at VI. Le has spent extensive time with the company, serving as a board observer, and has also provided support to other portfolio companies like EnsoData and EarliTec. In addition to her work with portfolio companies, Le has been instrumental in VI’s expansion and strengthening of its connections within the Wisconsin innovation ecosystem.
“Being promoted to Principal at Venture Investors is both an exciting and humbling opportunity,” said Le. “Having grown up in the Wisconsin ecosystem and having witnessed firsthand the incredible innovations coming out of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, it’s a privilege to continue to work with such a dynamic and impactful firm. VI has a unique track record of supporting university spinouts, and I’m excited to deepen my experience in this space, working alongside some of the most experienced and passionate individuals in the industry.”
Le’s background in healthcare innovation is rooted in her work with startups, first as Director for gBETA Madison, and later as Managing Director for gener8tor Madison. These experiences provided Le with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by early-stage companies, particularly those with ties to Wisconsin’s academic and research community.
A proud alumna of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Le is a firm believer in the “Wisconsin Idea,” the principle that knowledge should be applied to improve the health, well-being, and quality of life for all citizens of the state. Le’s work at VI is rooted in this philosophy, with the firm having long been recognized for supporting university spinouts. Her continued contributions will further enhance VI’s capacity to forge high-impact partnerships that drive tangible, real-world solutions in healthcare.
“Through my work at VI, I’ve had the privilege of learning from individuals who each have a story of identifying groundbreaking technologies that would go on to change healthcare,” said Jenni. “John Neis, for example, identified the potential of TomoTherapy [acquired by Accuray], a company that revolutionized cancer treatment, while Scott Button helped launch a minimally invasive treatment for soft tissue ablation by NeuWave Medical [acquired by Johnson & Johnson] — both UW-Madison spinouts. Now, as I step into this role, I’m excited to carry that tradition forward while supporting the next generation of innovators.”
In addition to her role at VI, Le is actively involved in the community as a member of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Business School Alumni Board.
